New Lender Request Process
Revised August 2026
New Requirement Effective October 1, 2026:
A $100 lender request deposit will be required when a Loan Officer submits a request for a new lender.
The deposit is 100% refundable after the requesting Loan Officer closes their first loan with the newly approved lender, subject to the requirements outlined below.
Purpose
To establish a consistent process for requesting and approving new lenders and to ensure Coast2Coast lender relationships are reviewed before any business is conducted with the lender.
Coast2Coast MUST approve a lender before any loan may be submitted to or originated through that lender.
Process Overview
Submit a Request
Management Review
Lender Approval
Unauthorized Submission
Setting Expectations
Estimated approval timeline: Approximately 30 days*
1. Submit a Request
The Loan Officer requesting a new lender must email Keith with:
Lender/Investor name
Account Executive (AE) name, phone number, and email
Product(s) or program(s) that make the lender a good fit
Any specific borrower or loan scenario driving the request
New — Effective October 1, 2026
A $100 lender request deposit will be charged when the request is submitted.
The deposit is 100% refundable after the requesting Loan Officer closes their first loan with the newly approved lender.
The deposit is not refundable if the request results in an unauthorized lender submission.
2. Management Review
Keith, Bob, and Jeff will review the request.
Approved: The lender application and approval process may begin.
Not Approved: Keith will notify the requestor.
Management review is required to evaluate lender agreements, requirements, financial terms, operational considerations, and contractual risk to Coast2Coast.
3. Lender Approval
Once management approves the request, the appropriate Coast2Coast team will complete the lender application and approval process.
Please allow approximately 30 days for completion.
Actual processing time may vary based on lender requirements, responsiveness, documentation, credentialing, contract terms, negotiations, or additional Coast2Coast review.
Coast2Coast cannot guarantee lender approval or completion within 30 days.
No Loan Submissions Before Approval
lender is considered approved only when:
Coast2Coast has received final lender approval;
Keith, Bob, and Jeff have reviewed and approved the lender terms;
The lender has been added to the Approved Lender List; and
Any required Loan Officer credentials have been established.
Do NOT submit a loan to the requested lender until all approval requirements have been completed.
This restriction applies even if the Loan Officer already has an existing relationship with the lender or a lender representative has indicated that the loan can be accepted.
4. Unauthorized Submission
If a Loan Officer submits a loan to a lender before Coast2Coast approval is complete:
The Loan Officer must immediately notify management.
The loan may be required to be withdrawn and redirected to an approved lender.
The Loan Officer is responsible for communicating any necessary change or resulting delay to the borrower and applicable parties, as directed by management.
The $100 lender request deposit will not be refundable.
An additional $100 administrative charge may be assessed.
Repeated or intentional violations may result in additional management review and disciplinary action.
5. Setting Expectations
Because new lender approval may take approximately 30 days or longer, Loan Officers should identify lender needs as early as possible.
Loan Officers should not make commitments based on the assumption that a new lender will be approved.
a loan requires a lender that has not yet been approved, the Loan Officer should work with management to determine whether:
An approved lender can be used instead;
Another available lending option should be presented to the borrower; or
The loan should be held until the requested lender completes the approval process, if appropriate.
Key Reminder
DO NOT submit a loan to a lender that is not on the Approved Lender List.
The lender request process protects both the Loan Officer and Coast2Coast by ensuring lender contracts, requirements, and business terms are reviewed and approved before business is conducted with the lender.
*The 30-day timeframe is an estimate. Some lender approvals may require additional time based on lender requirements, documentation, contract review, negotiations, or management approval.
*Keith Richardson, Bob Bagley and Jeff Weller must review and agree to all lender terms.
